Writer's Block: Fictional Character

If I really had to choose a fictional character I relate to the most, part of me would say I relate to Klavier Gavin from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. I may not be a rockstar or a prosecutor, but I can relate to him at the most basic levels: we're both truth-seekers, we both love music, we both tend to be perfectionists, we can both be amicable when caught at the right time. It's almost as though I've found the male video game character version of myself. Only I don't have a rock band and I don't have a cool "objection" pose. And I'm not as graceful, for that matter.

Another part of me would say that I relate more to Duo Lon from King of Fighters. We're both quiet types, both of us seem to be insatiable bookworms [according to the manga, Duo is somewhat of a bookish type if I remember right...], we both get defensive easily when confronted [this I saw in both the game and the manga], and both of us seem to have an obsession with the paranormal and with unidentified organisms. [Or in my case, identified ones that I've never observed before.]. Like Klavier, it's almost as though I've found another male video game character version of myself. Only I'm not an assassin from an ancient clan and I'm not nearly as graceful. Nor was I nearly as pampered or sheltered in my childhood...

I guess I really couldn't choose

I really wouldn't be able to choose which one I relate to more. Maybe a fusion of the aspects of the two I seem to relate to the most.

OH NOES.">Which is a big reason she was named Trucy. After all, Trucy from Apollo Justice used her escape artist skills to help her father Shadi Enigmar to escape for 7 years. Then there was that daring escape she made in the courtroom during the Wocky Kitaki trial...

--I would have named her Shen if she would have been male; probably still would be an escape artist, but loves to fight--poor Romeo's the victim all the time.

Pics of the darlings will come. EVENTUALLY.

Content Strike. COUNT ME IN.

For those of you who don't already know, there has been a strike scheduled for Friday, March 21st, 2008, during which we hope to have many members of LiveJournal provide LJ with absolutely no content for twenty-four hours. This means no posting and no commenting. If you post elsewhere and have it set up to be posted through a feed on LiveJournal, don't do it. Stay away from LiveJournal for twenty-four hours. That can't be too hard, can it? I know some of you are probably quite active on LiveJournal and will find it hard to stay away for an entire day, just as I will, but this is something that needs to be done, to show the people running LiveJournal that we're watching the changes they are making, that we're paying attention, that we're discontent, and that we want to be heard and taken in to consideration. We are not simply users who can be tossed to the side and ignored. We are the people who make up LiveJournal. Without us, without the content we create, without our words, our voices, our creativity, our participation, there would be no LiveJournal. This is a fact, and it needs to be realized and understood and then taken in to consideration when making decisions regarding the way that LiveJournal is run. The strike is only a few days away, so there isn't all too much time to prepare. While this is unfortunate, it isn't enough to keep this strike from taking place. It will take place, the second it is meant to, and it would be best to have as many people take part as possible. Please, spread the word. Spread it fast. There are only a few days to organize this. If you find that you care about LiveJournal or care about the people you interact with on LiveJournal or simply want it to remain a place where you can entertain yourself without constant censorship and money-hungry practices being thrown in without the consideration of those who use the service, act now. If you don't wish to spread the word, that is fine, but please: refrain from using LiveJournal on Friday, March 21st. Do something else for a change. It's for a good cause. (:

For background on this strike and why it is being held, please read the following posts:
http://beckyzoole.livejournal.com/394838.html
http://beckyzoole.livejournal.com/395310.html

To find out exactly when the strike begins and ends, depending on where you are located, please see this:
http://beckyzoole.livejournal.com/395125.html

What's this about?

* It's about free and ad-free LiveJournal accounts being abolished for new members, ignoring the advice from the newly-formed Advisory Board.
* It's about LJ staff trying to sneak this decision in under the radar, and when people found out, telling the users it was done 'to make the signup process less confusing'.
* It's about LJ staff failing to apologize for trying to hide the facts from view and for lying about the actual reasons for their actions.
* And finally, it's about the latest decision to hide certain user interests from the list of Most Popular Interests, some of them being fanfiction, bisexuality, sex and depression. This decision was not announced or explained in any way. Users found out for themselves.

The worst thing that could happen to me today would be that the history professor could cancel class. He's so eloquent and he's always so funny and outrageous that his class can be a beacon of light in a very dull, dreary day. I love his class to bits. I really do.

How would it possibly benefit me? I'd get some much needed study time for my microbiology test.

...Betta fish.
They give me a hilarious obsession.

Okay, so we're studying the aggression behaviors and the female mate preference in betta fish in Animal Behavior lab.
After we set up the little dominance hierarchy, we're talking about things and the professor says: "Hey, um...class, what do you think we should call ourselves while we're doing this little experiment?"
I chime in "The betta data service." The class erupts into roflcopters and lollerskates. That includes me.
And then...after the aggression hierarchies and female mate choice things, we got to test whether or not we could provoke a male betta with inanimate objects of different shapes, sizes and colors.

My group's objects: a small, yellow flashlight [brought in by partner A], a pair of sunglasses [brought by partner B], and my MP3 player.
We get the betta that I've nicknamed Duo Lon [He's got purple streaks on his fins and he's dark blue except for a couple of gold spots near his gill flaps.], and so for a minute, partner A holds her flashlight near the tank [the flashlight is turned off] and the betta totally flips out and does its aggression display. We let him rest a minute, then partner B holds his sunglasses near the tank. NO REACTION from Duo the betta. I just pull my MP3 player out of my hoodie pocket after we let Duo rest, and DUO GOES FREAKING NUTS WITH HIS AGGRESSION DISPLAY.

...So I went, "You agitatin' my betta?" repeatedly.
It was crazy.

LOLLERSKATES IT'S A BETTA PICTURE THAT I FOUND ON THE IN-TAR-WEBZ:

You must submit to the bettas. They are cool fish.

Yes, just like last weekend, one of these is a day late, and one of these is a day on time.

Reunion, and Turnabout --
...I really really remember how much Franziska pissed me off during this case. I do MEAN pissed me off. I swear she was worse than Manfred with her objecting during this case.
...Though little Pearly made up for it. By being super adorable and teaching about psychelocks.

Turnabout Big Top--
Most people hated this case. I didn't hate it. I didn't love it. I'm still neutral on it even now. There's some parts I hate: i.e. Regina, Moe's bad jokes, and that damn monkey; on the other hand, there's parts I love: i.e. Franziska going on that one "fool" tirade. It was great. It was enough to balance out the bad parts and make me neutral.
Now if only some of that testimony didn't annoy me so much, I might be able to completely finish it before I hafta charge my DS again.

Ah yes, the lost turnabout.
Where Phoenix has more amnesia than a goldfish trying to learn tricks.
Where Maggey seals her place as the PW character most like me -- we're both unlucky, wear glasses, short hair, all that good stuff.
Where Wellington wants BANANAS. -- Yes, we have no bananas~. We have-a no bananas today~.
And of course...it's the easiest case in Justice For All. I kid you not. The fricken easiest.

Your bananaless nerd,
Mitzy "Gloves" "No Bananas D:" C.
